Before I begin, I should probably explain why we haven’t posted in a while. Frankly, it’s just been bad timing. I just got back from a study abroad program in Europe, and Charlie is still …

Jordan Norwood signs with Cleveland Browns

This information comes directly from his facebook profile:

It’s a shame that Jordan wasn’t drafted, but I’m sure he’ll be turning heads from day 1 of minicamp.  He’s a great wide receiver, and and even better kid to boot.  He’s got the incredible hands, and great route running ability we saw on the field, and the high character we saw off of it.  We just know he’ll make 31 teams regret not drafting or signing him.

Update: 4/29 This one was in the Sports Bits, but I think it needs to go to the front page.  This is already one of our most commented story, and it just speaks to the kind of character that Jordan Norwood has.

He didn’t come to Penn State as the highly touted recruit: that was Derrick Williams.  Over his career, he wasn’t the deep threat who set all the records, that was Deon Butler.  But what Jordan did do is anything and everything the team needed.  He’d try his damnedest on blocks, he’d go over the middle, he’d take the big hit, and most of all, he’d catch the ball.  I don’t think, in his four years at Penn State, that I ever saw Jordan Norwood drop a pass.  If there was going to be one word to sum up Jordan Norwood, it would have to be dependable.  No matter what else happened, how the offensive line was holding up, whether the running game was working, hell, no matter who was under center, if the ball was coming Jordan Norwood’s way, you could chalk it up as a completion.

And now he’s on to the next phase of his life.  It’s a hell of a reward for all his hard work to not be drafted, but we here at quebecpenspinning, and everyone in the PSU community knows what Jordan Norwood is capable of.  Jordan, if you’re reading this, no matter what happens, you’ve made us proud.  You embody everything that is the Penn State attitude, and we couldn’t have asked for a better player or gentleman.  We just want to officially wish you nothing but good luck, success, and that you can continue to be the best Jordan Norwood you can be.

Thanks for the memories, Jordan. Now go out, and make Browns fans as happy as we Penn State fans were to see you on the field.

I have know Jordan for a while know and he is a great guy to be around. Also he has some of the best hands I have ever seen and is also a excellent route runner. He has a great attitude for anyone in the league and will always be one of my favorite players. The browns got a steal here even though he is undersized. Good luck Jordan and prove all of your doubters out there wrong.

I am very proud of Jordan. He has always been a very good person that has always set his goals high and worked hard to excel in them. He will be an excellent addition to the Browns and add great moral to the team. Choosing Jordan is Cleveland’s gain and a loss to other teams. Peace and Blessings to Jordan and all his team mates.

My sentiments exactly. Jordan Norwood is a prime example of what hard work and dedication to the task at hand can achieve. We should all feel lucky to have a player like him play for Penn State. I look forward to watching him on Sundays.

I’m really happy Jordan is now on a team, but really upset that its the Browns. He can do so much better than that. I’m going to be a huge Browns fan now just because of Jordan, but I think that he could of made it to better teams. Jordan isn’t the lucky one, the Browns are lucky they have such a great player.

Jordan was fun to watch. I always had confidence that he’d catch the ball and he never let me down.

Jordan, I wish you the best of luck in Cleveland. You were the major gog that moved the chains here in HAPPY VALLEY. I have followed Penn State football for a few years. I have seen the OJ McDuffie, Terry Smith, Bobby Engram and you performed the same way. You made plays and was extremely dependable. You are a terrific person off the field and Clevelandis not just getting a good fottball player, but also and excellent person. That is very important when you step to the next level. Just move the chains like you did her at PSU baby!!! and you will have a long NFL career

I saw Jordan on tv in a receiver's competition against Hakeem Nicks, Percy Harvin , and several others. After watching him catch the ball like nobody else, and then getting online to read about his history and character, I sat down and wrote to the Cleveland Browns in an open forum to please draft him. As a Browns fan, we had to endure a season of dropped passes that led to defeats(thank you Braylon Edwards). I was disappointed when the draft came and went and they didn't select him. But went crazy the day they signed him. We need a Jordan Norwood, especially now that Joe Jurevicius is gone. I hope he has a long Pro Bowl career and becomes part of a new Cleveland Brownds championship team.
