Philadelphia has room for some college football fever in addition to the Eagles, Flyers, Sixers and Phillies
The college football fever has spread to the Philadelphia sports blogging universe. Each week I wil be posting some thoughts on college football, especially Penn State, with the fine folks at the popular Philadelphia sports blog, Phinally Philly.

In this week’s debut column I touch on the Philadelphia region’s college football interests including thoughts on Temple, Villanova, Rutgers, small school football, and of course Penn State. Here is what I said about the Nittany Lions;

Can the Nittany Lions put together their own national championship run? As much as Big Ten critics would hate to see it they would just as much love to see Joe Paterno  go for one more national title. Penn State should have the offense and defense to make a run at an unbeaten regular season, which would make it difficult to be left out of the BCS Championship mix. Penn State opens up this weekend against Akron. Akron features a mildly dangerous passing game but their defense was lacking a year ago. Penn State should muscle their way to victory by rushing the ball left, right and up the middle.

Be sure to read the entire column on Phinally Philly and leave a comment. Going forward there may be more of a focus on Penn State in the future guest posts.

It is an honor to have established a working relationship with the crew at Phinally Philly and I hope you will help spread the love!

    I know I said this before, but I just wanted to extend the welcome once again.

    It'll be good to get some CFB coverage over at Phinally Philly. There really aren't many major football programs in the city, so Penn State has pretty much been adopted as the Philly team.

    I look forward to seeing what you've got the rest of the season, Kevin.
