Wait, this isn’t a bye week?

A record crowd of 46,452 fans took in game one of the NLDS between the Phillies and Rockies. That's not even half of a Beaver Stadium, although the white towels did have a hint of "White Out".

I want to apologize for not updating you on my top 25 ballot. Rest assured, my ballot was submitted to Charlie to be included in the official ballot for quebecpenspinning.

I can not help but notice that there is a lack of buzz this week. If I did not know better I would have thought this was a bye week for Penn State. No, they are playing a game this week against the Alma Mater of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, Eastern Illinois. Like you, I am finding it hard to get motivated to put anything together for this game.

No offense to any Panthers fans who may stop by and read this, but we all know that this game is already marked down as a win for Penn State and we are all focusing on Homecoming festivities next week when Minnesota comes to town, right?

Thankfully there is post-season baseball to help fill the void this weekend. After one of the best baseball games in recent memory saw the Minnesota Twins win their way into the playoffs the defending champion Phillies officially kicked off the 2009 post-season with a 5-1 victory over the Rockies. I know Charlie was rooting on his Dodgers last night against the Cardinals. Meanwhile Devon appears to be giddy about his New York Jets acquiring former Michigan wide receiver Braylon Edwards. I feel for you Devon. The Mets were a disaster this year with injuries and now your favorite football team is headlined by a USC quarterback and a Michigan wide receiver. Where is the justice?

But the show must go on!

I’ll be posting a very quick and rushed Blue White Round Table this afternoon and will offer my picks in the Big Ten tomorrow, complete with the weekly preview video.
