When is a rivalry not a rivalry?

Oh those loyal Notre Dame fans.
Oh those loyal Notre Dame fans.

When nobody else in the country thinks so, including the home state of the other team involved!

Notre Dame fans clearly have a higher outlook on all things involving the Irish, including their legendary rivalry against USC, which will continue this Saturday in South Bend.

I almost have to wonder if somebody at ESPN thought it would be funny to ridicule the Notre Dame fans by posting this question.

    This is great. USC 449 yards ND 96. You know how we have the annual Temple game basically as a warmup? That's what ND is to USC, but being in the middle of the season, they are essential their bye week.

    No we tried, and trust me did we try. But unfortunately they were booked solid for the next decade. We went with Temple instead.
